  • 1977– Uncle Martin hands Robert a 7-ounce Miller High Life

  • ​

  • 1978 – Drew and Robert go from little league football rivals to lifelong friends.

  • ​

  • 1993 – Robert quits job at bank and gets job on bottle line at Breckenridge Brewery

  •  

  • 1995 – Drew and Robert start writing the Flying Monkey Beer business plan

  • ​

  • 1996- Flying Monkey Amber Ale introduced in half-barrel kegs and 22 oz bottles in May

  • ​

  • 1998-Brewery at 5151 Merriam Drive overcame by floodwaters in October of that year

  • ​

  • 1999-Move production to 311 N Burch St

  • ​

  • 2002-Purchase control of brewery at 311 N Burch St.

  • ​

  • 2007-Great Recession and inputs increase by more than 100% (Ouch!)

  • ​

  • 2009-Partner with Corey and Mike and move production to Welt Street

  • ​

  • 2012-Flying Monkey introduced in 12-ounce cans and bottle production discontinued

  • ​

  • 2013-Sparta Beverage distribution company is started in earnest at 1744 Iron St

  • ​

  • 2016-Sister Brand Kansas Craft Brewers introduced

  • ​

  • 2017-Maria is graduated from high school and Flying Monkey expands markets in MO & KS

  • ​

  • 2022-Sparta Beverage moves to 1400 2 nd Street.

  • ​

  • 2023- New can design will be introduced.
